Working in Ireland Survey: An All-Ireland Study 2025
The world of work is undergoing profound changes. How it is changing, who is affected, and with what consequences is little understood, however.
The objective of the Working in Ireland Survey (WIIS) is to answer these and other questions by tracking recent developments in work and employment. More specifically, the intention is to examine the manner in which changes in work affect workers' skills, their experience of work, incomes and well-being and, in turn, the productive performance of organisations and the economy.
WIIS is a major undertaking. It surveys over 4,000 workers in both the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland and involves a team of nine researchers drawn from different academic disciplines, including economics, psychology, geography, management and employment relations.
It is a unique study that provides reliable, up-to-date, robust data that will be of enormous benefit to academics, policy makers, employers, trade unions and other interested parties.
The current survey was conduced in the summer of 2025 and is a repeat of a similar survey conducted in 2021.
